Meet Victor Lee, MA, RSW 👋
& His Values.
I draw a lot on my lived experience as an immigrant person to guide me in my work with clients. I am originally from South Korea and lived out the first chapter of my life as a teenager in South Korea and the second half as an adult in Metro Vancouver, Canada. Combining my education, training, and personal experience as a therapist, I believe in the importance of connecting with others, finding support from the community and building resilience to get through the challenges of life.
So, it is my privilege to meet people from a variety of backgrounds, cultures, ages, and family histories with a variety of challenges in their lives and help facilitate the change that they are looking for.
Through clinical counselling, I am passionate about exploring together ways that help you become stronger, grow into more authentic versions of yourself, and thrive! With warmth, compassion, courage, creativity and some humour, I strive to witness your suffering, listen to your stories, support you in both short-term and long-term solutions, and keep you motivated in your journey of healing and growth.
Qualifications
I am a registered social worker (RSW) through the BC College of Social Workers. I hold a Master’s degree from Trinity Western University in Counselling Psychology and a B.A. in Social Work from the University of British Columbia. I am trained in and practicing the following evidence-based modalities: Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Sand Tray/play therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal family systems (IFS).

During my career, I have helped a wide range of those in need including children, teenagers, young adults as well as mature adults in community-based agencies, a local university, and an out-patient mental health agency. I also served refugees, children with special needs, and newcomers to Canada. Leaning on these experiences, I work from a person-centred, solution-focused, and systems-oriented approach with a focus on creating a space for someone to feel safe, understood, and at ease with me.
