Through strengthening a therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client, the work of individual counselling begins. I endorse a person-centred approach and integrate several evidence-based modalities that best meet each client’s needs. These include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which I talk more about below. I offer individual sessions to individuals aged 18+ both online and in-person.

DBT Group Therapy
for Young Adults
$200/120 minutes
Due to practical, financial, or emotional reasons, perhaps individual or family counselling might not work for you at the moment. Group therapy can be a great alternative where you would usually gain effective means to begin therapeutic work, brush up on coping skills, and share your stories with supportive others, all facilitated with the guidance of a trained clinician. So, in many cases, I see that there's strength in numbers! 

Dialectic Behavior Therapy was originally introduced by Dr. Marsha Linehan as an evidence-based modality for people with significant difficulty regulating their emotions and behaviours. DBT program provides young adults (adolescents, families, young adults, etc) means to develop self-awareness, regulate their emotions and behaviours, experience diverse emotions without resorting to problem behaviours, and improve relationships with family, school, and peers. 

I endorse DBT skills and frequently apply them to my life circumstances. Scheduled in April 2024, my colleague Joyce Wiebe –abbotsfordcounsellingcollective.com/Joyce-Wiebe-Bio-Page and I plan to run our first DBT skills group for adults. It'll be running on demand.
